Brittany Dick had a memorable day at Saturday's UW-Stevens Point Last Chance Meet. She broke her own school record in the mile, with a time of 5:17.61, beating her previous mark by one second. That record-breaking time was good enough for fifth place in the event. She also placed second in the 5000 meters with a time of 19.34.39.

Wood had a record-breaking performance at Saturday's UW-Stevens Point Last Chance Meet. He finished seventh in the 55 meter high hurdles with a time of 8.11, but posted a time of 7.87 seconds in the prelims, which breaks the 10-year old school record which was set by now assistant Ripon coach Dan Sutter.

Picked to finish seventh in the Midwest Conference preseason poll, the Ripon women's basketball won the 2009 MWC Championship on Saturday with a 56-49 win over regular season champion St. Norbert College in the MWC Tournament championship game. That marks Ripon's fourth MWC Championship in school history and first in four years, earning them an automatic bid into the 2009 NCAA Tournament with a
17-8 overall record.

Roy had an outstanding weekend at the MWC Championships at Monmouth College, earning the men's field outstanding performer award. Roy won the shot put with an NCAA Provisional qualifying distance of 50-11.50, while also finishing third in the weight throw with a distance of 47-01.75. His performance helped the Red Hawks finish fourth out of nine teams at the event.

Jones earned a lot of points for the Red Hawks, helping them to a third place finish at Saturday's UW-Oshkosh Invitational. She finished first in the triple jump with a distance of 33-11.50, which is currently tops in the MWC. She also ran a leg on the second place 4x400 relay, while placing third in the high jump (4-11.75), fifth in the long jump (15-00.75) and sixth in the 55 hurdles (9.61).

Wood had a career day at Saturday's UW-Oshkosh Invitational. He ran the opening leg on the winning 4x200 relay, while placing second in the 55 hurdles with a career best time of 7.91, which is the second fastest time in Ripon history. Wood also ran a leg on the 4x400 relay which finished second.

Becker ignited the Red Hawk offense in Saturday's 64-57 win at Beloit College, helping Ripon clinch a spot in the Midwest Conference Tournament for the first time in three years. Against the Buccaneers, Becker made three 3-pointers in the first three minutes of the game to set the tone for the rest of the contest. In Ripon's two games last week, Becker averaged 7.5 points, while shooting 57 percent (4-7) from 3-point range.

Hepas ended his Red Hawk career on a positive note at last weekend's Midwest Conference Championships, leading the Ripon men's team to a fourth place finish out of nine teams. The senior earned two top-three finishes, while also swimming a leg in four relay teams that each took fourth place. In the 500 freestyle, Heaps finished second with a time of 4:50.05. He also swam a third place time of 16:55.95 in the 1650 freestyle.

Lind scored in double-figures in all three of Ripon’s games last week, helping them to a 2-1 record in those games to keep the Red Hawks in the thick of the MWC post-season race. For the week, Lind averaged 13.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals, while playing 20.3 minutes per game. That included a career-high nine rebounds against Beloit. She also made 36 percent (4-11) of her 3-pointers and blocked three shots.

Cloeter helped Ripon to a pair of wins in their three games last week, giving them five wins in their past seven games. In last week's games, Cloeter barely missed a shot. He converted on 75 percent of his field goals (9-12), including 83 percent (5-6) of his 3-pointers, while also making all nine of his free throw attempts. Cloeter currently leads the Red Hawks in both 3-point shooting (46 percent) and free throw shooting (91 percent).

Heidi Baerenwald had an outstanding week in a pair of sports for the Red Hawks a week ago. In Wednesday's 62-37 women's basketball win at Lawrence, Baerenwald scored 13 points off the bench, all of which came in the first half, including a stretch of nine consecutive. She followed that up with a first-place finish in the shot put at Saturday's Tadd Metzger Track and Field Invitational at Carthage College. Baerenwald's throw of 41-02.50 was Ripon's only first place finish of the meet, as the Red Hawks finished fifth out of 18 teams.

Wurtz led Ripon to an upset win at Lawrence last week, scoring a career-high 24 points in 23 minutes of action. Twenty-two of those points came in the second half, keeping Ripon’s MWC Tournament hopes alive. Wurtz made 9 of his 11 field goals in the game, while converting on all five of his free throws. He also recorded seven rebounds, including two offensive boards.

Brittany earned Ripon's only individual first place finish at Saturday's UW-Oshkosh Invitational, helping the Red Hawks to a third place finish in the five-team field. Dick won the one-mile run with a time of 5:25.27, which is seven seconds off her career-best and school-record time in the event.

Smith was a big reason for Ripon's success at Saturday's double dual at Monmouth College. The sophomore was the lone Red Hawk to win an event, taking first in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:03.88. He also placed third in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:04.78.

Goudreau helped keep Ripon in the hunt for an MWC Tournament berth, with a pair of wins last week. The junior averaged 12.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals off the bench in Ripon’s three games. She also shot a combined 55 percent (12-22) from the field and 68 percent (13-19) from the free throw line. In their overtime win at Illinois College, Goudreau recorded career highs of 20 points and seven rebounds. She followed that up with a career-high five steals, to go along with 12 points and five rebounds in the Red Hawk’s win at Knox.

Bellmore was the lone Red Hawk to win an individual event at Saturday's season-opening Private College Invitational. The sophomore placed first in the high jump, with a career-best jump of 6-05.50, as Ripon finished fifth out of nine teams in the meet. Bellmore also ran a leg in the 4 x 400 relay team, which finished in sixth place.

Rice gave Ripon their lone individual first-place finish at Saturday’s Carroll Invitational with a 50-yard freestyle time of 27.09. Rice was also a part of the Red Hawk’s second-place 400 freestyle relay team, which swam a time of 4:09.20, as Ripon defeated two of their three opponents in the meet.

Heaps won two individual events at Saturday’s Carroll Invitational, which saw Ripon defeat Beloit, Carroll and College of DuPage by a combined score of 209-68. Heaps won the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:48.93, while also taking first in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:11.71. Heaps was also a part of Ripon’s first-place 400 freestyle relay team, which finished with a time of 3:35.10.

Becker helped Ripon extend their winning streak to four games with a pair of wins at last week’s Land of Magic Classic in Daytona Beach, Fla.  The freshman guard averaged 10 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in the pair of wins. Becker keyed the Red Hawk’s overtime victory against Union College with a 16 point, six rebound, three assist performance, while shooting 50 percent (6-12) from the field, including 3-of-6 from 3-point range. She followed that with four points, five rebounds and two assists in Ripon’s win against Albion, which also saw her block two shots and record two steals.

Erin helped Ripon win two of their three games last week, including a 2-0 start to the Midwest Conference season. The team's leading scorer in two of those three games, Lind averaged 12.0 points last week, to go along with 3.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. That culminated with career-high 19 points in Saturday's win against Grinnell. In that game, Lind also recorded six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and three steals. In the three games, Lind shot a combined 65 percent (13-20) from the field, including 57 percent (4-7) from 3-point range. She has made at least one 3-point shot in six of Ripon's first seven games.

Martin Esters

Toenisvorst, Germany/St. John's Northwestern Military Academy

Esters had two career games over the weekend. In Friday’s 79-71 overtime win against Monmouth, Esters recorded the first double-double of his career with 16 points and 10 rebounds. He followed that up with a career-high 24 points in Saturday’s 137-129 loss against Grinnell, which also saw him pull down five rebounds. In the two games, Esters shot a combined 67 percent (14-21) from the field, while also making 71 percent (12-17) of his free throws.

Karsten scored five points and pulled down three rebounds in Saturday's 67-65 win at Marian University. He also played outstanding defense on the Sabres top scorer, holding him to 13 points. Karsten dished out one assist and blocked two shots in 24 minutes of action, helping the Red Hawks improve their record to 2-1.

DeHamer was a big part of Ripon's 70-53 win at UW-Oshkosh and was named to the All-Tournament team at last weekend's Ripon College Classic, where the Red Hawks lost to a pair of top 25 teams. Against UW-O, DeHamer scored seven points on 3-of-5 shooting, pulled down eight rebounds and dished out three assists. In the two games of the Ripon College Classic, DeHamer averaged 11 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and two steals. That included a 17-point, seven rebound, two assists and three steals in Ripon's 75-66 loss to number one ranked UW-Whitewater.

Andy Perrine

Perrine helped Ripon earn their first win of the season Saturday, a 92-68 win over Coe College. In that game, Perrine scored a career-high 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting. He also recorded a career-best four assists, to go along with one rebound and one steal. In Friday's season-opening loss to Cornell College, Perrine scored six points and grabbed a career-high four rebounds.
