RIPON, Wis. - The Red Hawks are coming off a season that saw them make the semifinals of the Midwest Conference Tournament. They are expected to be just as good again this year, as they were picked to finish third in the annual MWC Preseason Coaches Poll, which was released Thursday by the conference office.
St. Norbert was picked to win the conference, thanks to seven first-place votes, while defending conference champ Carroll University was selected second, with the remaining three first-place votes. They were followed by the Red Hawks, Monmouth, and Lake Forest, making up the top half of the conference. Beloit was picked sixth, while Lawrence, Grinnell, Illinois College, and Knox rounded out the poll.
