Admissions Counselor/Assistant Director of Admissions

Ripon College is accepting applications for the position of Admissions Counselor/Assistant Director of Admissions. Reporting to the Director of Admissions, this position serves as a member of the Admissions Team. This position is primarily responsible for serving as a territory recruitment manager to achieve enrollment goals. This position is for an Admission Counselor; an Assistant Director title may be negotiable for experienced candidates.effectively engage students, staff, faculty, parents, and community partners.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: May include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:
- Pro-actively and energetically serve as a member of the admissions team managing a recruitment territory to assist in achieving enrollment goals for the College.
- Implement recruitment strategies as outlined in the enrollment plan in the assigned territory to include, but not limited to, high school visits, college fairs, area receptions, and events.
- Leverage existing partnerships to recruit international students while exploring expansion of international pipeline.
- Initiate, plan, and execute special projects in conjunction with the goals of the office.
- Work with current students, parents, alumni and community-based organizations that assist with the recruitment of students.
- Provide admissions presentations and interviews to visitors during on and off-campus events.
- Review applications for admission and for academic scholarship.
- Counsel students and families of admission requirements, process guidelines, financial aid and scholarship information, residence life, athletics, fine arts, etc.
- Provide continual follow-up to students and parents via phone, text message, letters, email, and scheduled appointments.
- Complete regular reports related to recruitment, projections, personal schedule, travel, special programs, and professional development.
- Adhere to all College policies and procedures regarding travel and other requirements.
- Perform other enrollment driving job-related duties as assigned.

- Demonstrated ability to think critically and initiate and implement projects independently.
- Knowledge of Ripon College and all its programs and services.
- Communicate effectively via any medium: phone, text, email, and social media.
- Strong public speaking skills in both interpersonal and large group settings.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people and commitment to diversity.
- Knowledge or ability to learn Slate (CRM) to enhance recruitment tasks.
- Experience with, and sensitivity to, diverse populations.
- Knowledge of admissions processes and policies including a commitment to follow NACAC’s Guide to Ethical Practice in College Admission.
- Ability to travel and work a varied schedule with flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Required to maintain a valid driver license and satisfactory driving record.
- Knowledge of Microsoft environments (Outlook, Word and Excel) as well as Google Suites (Docs, Drives and Sheets).
- Ability to represent the office and the College in a professional manner.
Work Relationships: Works directly with other members of the Office of Admissions staff, Athletics and other key campus constituents. Daily contact with prospective students and their families, current students, staff, faculty, alumni, school counselors and persons outside the campus community.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Knowledge of current admissions practices.
- Experience with providing direct support to students.
- Experience with research and compiling data.
- Excellent organizational, analytical and planning skills.
- Experience with Google Suite, student information systems, and degree audit tracking software.
- Knowledge of Slate with three years of related experience in admissions or student services within a college setting.
