Hello! My name is Tom Hamami, and I’m an assistant professor of business management and the John Barlow Murray ’37 and Nellie Weiss Murray ’37 Professor in Economics. I grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and studied accounting and economics and the University of Maryland, College Park before completing my doctorate in managerial economics and strategy at Northwestern University.

I have been teaching at Ripon College since 2017. In the department of economics and business management, I teach the entire microeconomics sequence, from introductory (Principles) through intermediate (Price Theory) to advanced electives (Game Theory and Industrial Organization). I also teach the department’s mathematics course, which I designed from scratch to prepare our students for upper-level coursework in economics and finance. At the time of this writing, I am also designing a brand-new Catalyst course where students will develop their quantitative reasoning skills by analyzing the National Football League’s salary cap. Outside the classroom, I serve as faculty advisor for the Creative Enterprise Center (our student-run business consulting firm) and the Ripon College Gaming club.

I currently live in Green Lake, Wisconsin with my wife and two young children.
