Red Hawks Kettle Club
A Red Hawk, by itself, is a fierce predator. But when many Red Hawks band together as a group, they become a nearly unstoppable force — a kettle.
Ripon College athletics has enjoyed a long and proud tradition of excellence spanning more than 100 years, during which countless men and women have graced us with their talent and competitive spirit. Some who went on to become big names in the world of sports, and many who have made their mark on the world in other ways.
You may have heard of well-rounded student-athletes like 2012 NCAA D-III Josten’s Trophy winner Aris Wurtz ’12 or legendary Wisconsin coach Dick Bennett ’65, who was a three-sport athlete during his time at Ripon College.
But did you know that Rhodes Scholar Zach Morris ’02 helped the Red Hawks baseball team to two conference championships and two NCAA tournaments? Or, that seven-time Grammy winner Al Jarreau earned three varsity letters playing basketball at Ripon College and batted his way to summer training camp with the Milwaukee Braves? How about three-time Academic All-American runner Lori Stich Zimmerman ’91, who after completing her law degree at Emory went on to compete in the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials, not once but twice?
When we — as alumni, parents, fans and coaches — band together to support our student-athletes at Ripon College, we give them the wings and the strength to win the battles on the athletic fields and courts, to thrive in the classrooms and to succeed in whatever venture they pursue after graduation.
We urge each and every Red Hawk to unite as one powerful force — to band together as members of the Red Hawks Kettle Club (formerly Friends of Athletics). As a member of the Red Hawks Kettle Club you show your dedication to assisting with the overall enhancement of the student-athlete experience at Ripon College through crucial financial support, which allows us to continue to provide excellent academic and athletic programming, and carry on the Red Hawks championship tradition.
Beyond the pride of knowing your gift has gone to support our student-athletes, Red Hawks Kettle Club members receive special invitations to events as well as early-bird registration to the Red Hawks Golf Scramble, to be held June 26, 2015, at The Golf Courses of Lawsonia in Green Lake, Wis.
To become a member of the Red Hawks Kettle Club, visit our secure make a gift form, select the “other” option and designate your gift for “Red Hawks Kettle Club.” Together, we can build on our proud tradition of excellence and secure success for Ripon College student-athletes today and in the future.
