President Messitte Predicts Global Events of 2013
Ripon College President Zach Messitte offered his predictions on what global events will shape 2013 as a guest on World Views, a public radio program hosted by Suzette Grillot, dean of the College of International Studies at the University of Oklahoma.
Messitte forecast serious problems in the Eastern Mediterranean in both Greece and Turkey. “There may not be coups,” Messitte said. “But there will be things that will come very close to it where the ruling political class and the military in some strange alliances will challenge both in Turkey the Erdoğan government and in Greece the sort of fragile political system that exists.”

World Views broadcasts on KGOU Radio every Friday at 4:00 and 6:30 p.m. Each show focuses on specific global topics or world regions in a roundtable discussion, followed by in-depth interviews with experts and newsmakers.
