Ripon Alum to Dogsled across Arctic
Larry Daugherty ’98 will realize his dream to man a dogsled through the arctic. The Jacksonville Beach, Florida-based radiation oncologist has been selected as one of 20 participants in the 2013 Fjällräven Polar, a roughly 200-mile long dog-sledding adventure across the arctic tundra of Scandinavia.
Daugherty will mush from Signaldalen, Norway to Jukkasjärvi, Swedish Lapland. The adventure, designed for amateurs who have never been dogsledding, is scheduled to take place April 9 to 13. Read all about it in the Ripon Commonwealth Press: here
