Willoughby Article in Nature

Patrick WilloughbyPatrick Willoughby, Ripon College Assistant Professor of Chemistry, was part of a group of researchers from the University of Minnesota who published an article in the most recent edition of Nature. The article, “Alkane desaturation by concerted double hydrogen atom transfer to benzyne” reports on “… a desaturation reaction of simple, unactivated alkanes that is mechanistically unique.”

The work, authored with Dawen Niu, Brian Woods, Beeraiah Baire and Thomas Hoye, was completed while Willoughby was working on his PhD in Chemistry at the University of Minnesota.
