Ripon College Receives $500,000 Grant from Mead Witter Foundation
Ripon College has received a $500,000 grant from the Mead Witter Foundation, Inc., of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., to enhance the Mead Witter Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund to a total of $1 million.
“Ripon College is very proud of our historical commitment to educating generations of young Wisconsinites,” said Zach Messitte, president of Ripon College. “The generosity and foresight of the Mead Witter Foundation allows us to enhance our scholarships so that Wisconsin’s best and brightest will continue to achieve, learn and graduate from Ripon College.”
The Scholarship Fund was established at the College in 2010 with an initial gift of $500,000 to provide perpetual scholarship support for traditional, full-time undergraduate students.
Eligible scholarship award recipients are Wisconsin residents from the Wisconsin Rapids area and areas in northern Wisconsin, who meet strong academic standards and have financial need. Awards range from $1,000 to $5,000 per academic year.
“The Mead Witter Foundation has a long history of supporting private liberal arts colleges, primarily in Wisconsin. We are pleased to enrich our support to benefit the students of Ripon College,” said Cynthia Henke, president of the Foundation.
