Congressional candidate Mark Harris to speak Oct. 1 at Ripon College
Mark Harris of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the Democratic nominee for Congress for the sixth congressional district, will speak at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 1 on the Ripon College campus. The talk will be in Great Hall, Harwood Memorial Union, and is presented through the Center for Politics and the People.
The center seeks to promote constructive political debate by informing students, the community and citizens concerned with good governance in politics and public policy. There is no charge to attend the talk, and members of the general public are welcome.
Harris practiced law and worked as a trust officer in Indianapolis, Indiana, for several years before moving to Wisconsin. He worked as a trust officer and vice president of Associated Trust Company from 1995 through 2005, when he was elected County Executive of Winnebago County.
He served three terms on the Oshkosh City Council, including one term as mayor; served one term as District 24 Winnebago County Board Supervisor; and served as president of the Wisconsin County Executives and Administrators Association. He is also a member of the Wisconsin Counties Association Board of Directors; a former board member of the Lakeland Family Care District; and a member of the Fox Valley Technical College District Board.
