Ethics Bowl Team Wins Upper Midwest Regional Championship
The Ripon College Ethics Bowl Team has earned the title of Upper Midwest Regional Champion for the third consecutive year.
This weekend during competition at Harper College, Ripon’s Ethics Bowl Team beat out teams from Harper College, Loyola University of Chicago, Illinois Institute of Technology and Bowling Green State. With this win the team secured their bid to the International Ethics Bowl in February 2015.
Ripon’s Team A posted the following results: Round 1 beat Hiram College 159-153, Round 2 beat Bowling Green State 141-138, Round 3 beat IIT 136-125 and Round 4 beat Illinois Wesleyan 140-138 for a total record of 4-0, securing first place.
Ripon’s Team B posted the following results: Round 1 lost to University of Michigan 138-143, Round 2 beat Harper College 145-143, Round 3 beat Loyola 144-140 and Round 4 beat Triton College 139-132 for a total record of 3-1, securing fifth place.
Ripon’s Ethics Bowl Team comprised the following students: J.J. Grinde ’17, Connor Cummiskey ’16, Ali Finken ’16, Lauren Hince ’18, Zachary Petersen ’16, Zachary Matson ’17 and Carly Lundt ’16.
