Work by Appleton artist Rob Neilson will be shown at Ripon College starting Sept. 9

An exhibit of work by Appleton artist Rob Neilson will be shown Sept.9 through Oct. 14 in Caestecker Galler, C.J. Rodman Center for the Arts, at Ripon College.

The son of a Detroit steelworker, Neilson utilizes quotidien, “normalized” imagery for his sculptures, which have been commissioned for public and private collections. His work can be seen at Chicago Navy Pier and Chase Park in Long Beach, California. He is an associate professor of art at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin.

An artist’s talk will be presented at 7 p.m. Friday in the Rodman Center lobby. A reception will follow in the gallery.
