Jazz Ensemble will perform Friday

The Ripon College Jazz Ensemble will present its fall concert Friday, Dec. 9. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Demmer Recital Hall, C.J. Rodman Center for the Arts. It is free and open to the public.

The Ensemble will perform works in a variety of jazz styles from the 1940s up to the present. The 21-piece group will be featuring music written or performed by Duke Ellington, Miles Davis and Gil Evans, the Buddy Rich Band, Pat Metheny, Wisconsin composers Fred Sturm and Paul Dietrich, and others.

The 10-piece Jazz Improvisation Group will play music by Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis and contemporary jazz singer Gregory Porter.
