Theatre department scene nominated for festival performance
For the second consecutive year, a scene from a Ripon College production has been nominated for “An Evening of Scenes from Associated Productions” at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. If selected, the scene will be performed at the 50th anniversary festival in January 2018.
In the scene selected from Shakespeare’s tragicomedy “Measure for Measure,” a novitiate, Isabella, must plead with the Duke’s powerful deputy (Angelo) for her brother’s life. Sophie Widman ’18 of Boulder Creek, California, plays the woman about to become a nun and Jimmy Balestreri ’19 of Plymouth, Wisconsin, plays the stern deputy.
