Chamber Singers and Choral Union to perform April 22

The Ripon College Chamber Singers and Choral Union will perform in the Choral Finale Concert at 3:15 p.m., Sunday, April 22. Singers from Green Lake Middle School of Green Lake, Wisconsin will also join them. The concert will be held in the newly renovated Demmer Recital Hall in the C.J. Rodman Center for the Arts. Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities John C. Hughes will conduct both choirs.

Chamber Singers will open the concert with Eric Whitacre’s Five Hebrew Love Songs. Maria Dietrich will join them on piano, and Mishan Han will accompany them on violin. Choral Union’s repertoire consists exclusively of music by Leonard Bernstein in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of his birth. Selections include Chichester Psalms, movements from Bernstein’s Mass, as well as a medley of songs from West Side Story. Virginia Pollock (harp), Todd Truesdale (percussion), and Maria Dietrich (organ) will accompany Choral Union. The performance of Chichester Psalms will feature a soloist and singers from Green Lake Middle School.
