Former football coach Bob Nielson now leading South Dakota team
“Bob the Builder: Can Nielson’s winning formula lift up USD?”, a story about University of South Dakota football coach Bob Nielson, was published Aug. 23, 2018, in the Sioux Falls Argus Leader newspaper.
Nielson spent two years, from 1989-1991, at Ripon College as associate professor of physical education and head football coach. The article details recollections of his time at Ripon, including a season-ending win over Lawrence University, as well as his career as a head coach for six different programs and two NCAA Division II national titles.
