Ripon College reaches teach-out agreement with Holy Family College of Manitowoc

Ripon College and Holy Family College in Manitowoc have reached a teach-out agreement to accommodate Holy Family students who wish to transfer to Ripon after Holy Family closes Aug. 29, 2020.

This cooperative relationship will facilitate the transfer process. All Holy Family student credits will be accepted toward an equal or comparable degree program at Ripon. Ripon will provide 100% transfer of all credits granted or accepted as transfer by Holy Family College, including graduate credits, and guarantee admission to Holy Family College students with no application fees.

The pathway to graduation for each student transferring to Ripon College will allow the student to complete their program on the same timeframe as was possible at Holy Family College. Ripon College’s programs are available in in-person or online formats, and residency requirements will be waived for Holy Family College students.

Ripon College will waive minimum enrollment requirements and credit requirements for Holy Family College students. With the exception of some requirements in Ripon’s professional preparation programs that result in certification or licensure, Ripon College’s approach to individualized degree planning allows Holy Family College degree plans to be used on Ripon degree plans.

“Ripon College welcomes students from Holy Family College into our community,” said Zach Messitte, president of Ripon College. “They will find a similarly dynamic academic environment that empowers students with a quality liberal arts education for successful professional careers and lives.”

Ripon College will commit staff and faculty time to work with Holy Family students, faculty, advisors, and admissions and financial aid staff to support each individual student in preparing for transfer and teach-out at Ripon College, including development of individualized degree plans.

Ripon also will provide an advising, academic support and student services team to support the success of continuing Holy Family College students.
