Ripon College updates COVID-19 masking policy
Dear Ripon College community,
As stated in the July 22, 2021, communication, it is our intention to follow CDC and Fond du Lac County Health Department guidelines regarding COVID safety protocols. On July 27, 2021, the CDC released updated guidance recommending that fully vaccinated people wear masks in public indoor areas of substantial or high transmission. As of this writing, Fond du Lac County is an area of substantial risk of transmission of COVID-19.
Thus, effective Monday, Aug. 9, 2021, all students, faculty, staff and visitors will be required to wear a mask in all indoor public spaces and in any College vehicle.
The CDC and the Fond du Lac County Health Department continue to strongly encourage all eligible individuals to get fully vaccinated as the most effective way to protect themselves and others against COVID-19.
While we wish that Ripon College could be back to total normalcy, the health and safety of our community is our first priority. We will continue to monitor the local health situation and will adapt to changing conditions as required.
We look forward to welcoming you back for the fall semester.
Zach Messitte
President
