Classical guitar recital to be presented by Christopher Cramer Friday, Nov. 4
A classical guitar recital will be presented Friday, Nov. 4, at Ripon College. The recital by Adjunct Instructor of Music Christopher Cramer will begin at 7 p.m. in Demmer Recital Hall, C.J. Rodman Center for the Arts. It is free and open to the public.
The program includes selections from the 16th through the 20th centuries by Italian, French, Hungarian, Polish and Spanish composers.
As a soloist and chamber musician, Cramer has performed in the United States, Canada and Asia. Recent concert engagements have taken him to major cities including Boston, Montréal, Singapore and Taipei, among others. His repertoire includes masterworks of the past as well as newly composed works by contemporary composers.
His Wisconsin appearances include the Madison East Orchestra, Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra, Beloit College Masterworks Chorus, Edgewood College Chamber Singers, St. Norbert Abbey Choir, St. Norbert College Chamber Singers and Men’s Chorus, and University of Wisconsin-Madison University Opera.
He is on the faculty of Ripon College, Beloit College, and St. Norbert College, and he is the director of guitar instruction at the Madison Academy of Music.
