Soprano, piano duo will open Chamber Music and Jazz series Sept. 15
A husband-and-wife soprano and piano duo will perform at Ripon College Friday, Sept. 15, as part of the Chamber Music and Jazz at Ripon series. The Lynn Post Northrop Memorial Concert will begin at 7 p.m. in Demmer Recital Hall, C.J. Rodman Center for the Arts. All events in the chamber music series are free and open to the public.
Hannah Ryan, soprano, will perform with her husband, Peter Ryan. Both teach at The University of Virginia’s College at Wise (UVA Wise), Hannah Ryan as an associate professor of music and director of choral and vocal activities, and Peter Ryan as an associate professor of music.
Hannah Ryan maintains an active career both in the United States and abroad, enjoying recent performances in Vienna, Montreal and Ecuador. Her ensembles have performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City and throughout the world.
Peter Ryan’s collaborative and solo performances regularly highlight his passion for amplifying both underperformed works and voices of underrepresented composers.
They have performed with the Johnson City Symphony Orchestra in Virginia and Cantrell Hall at the University of Virginia, and have been featured as presenters, directors and clinicians at conferences and honors choirs around the world.
