Applied music lesson students to present recital Dec. 7
A variety of musical solo and chamber works will be presented in a concert Thursday, Dec. 7, at Ripon College. The recital will begin at 12:15 p.m. in Demmer Recital Hall, C.J. Rodman Center for the Arts, and is free and open to the public.
Applied lesson students, nominated by their studio professors, will perform, accompanied by Instructor of Music Deb MacKenzie and Adjunct Instructor of Music Sandy Polcyn on piano. This event is free and open to the public.
Performers and their selections include:
- Valerie Bruce ’25 of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, soprano: “A Nun Takes the Veil,” by Samuel Barber.
- Matthew Buchholz ’27 of Jefferson, Wisconsin, trombone and piano: “Concerto for Trombone,” movements I and II, by N. Rimsky-Korsakov.
- Daniel Gomez ’24 of Mayville, Wisconsin, guitar: “Prelude,” op. 114, no. 5, by F. Carulli; and “Etude,” op. 50, no. 13, by M. Giuliani.
- Alexander Herrera ’24 of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, guitar: “Estudio in E minor,” by F. Tarrega; and “Estudios Sencillos,” no. 1, by L. Brouwer.
- Lucie Hodgkins ’25 of Winneconne, Wisconsin, mezzo-soprano: “Zueignung,” by Richard Strauss.
