Paul Dietrich releases fourth album of music, supports it with a tour
Paul Dietrich, adjunct instructor of music, released his fourth album as a leader, “5+4,” in October and supported it with a small tour in February. The album, which was released on Shifting Paradigm Records, was supported by a grant from Arts + Lit Lab in Madison, Wisconsin, and consists of eight original pieces of music featuring a traditional jazz quintet combined with a string quartet.
Additionally, the Paul Dietrich Jazz Ensemble, a 19-person large jazz group, headlined the Jazz in the Meadows festival in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, in late February. The festival is in its 38th year of operation and is the largest high school jazz festival in Illinois.
