The speakers and award winners for Ripon College’s 2025 Commencement Ceremony May 18 will feature notable women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), as well as distinguished community members.

The commencement theme is “Discovery Has No Limits: Celebrating Women in STEM,” emphasizing Ripon’s commitment to recognizing the contributions of women in STEM fields.

The keynote speaker will be Betsy Kleba, Ph.D., the vice president of cancer screening product management at Exact Sciences Corporation, a Madison-based company specializing in cancer prevention, screening and therapy diagnostics. She will receive an honorary degree.

Kleba previously was senior director of pipeline development at Exact Sciences and held positions at Sampleminded, Westminster College and the National Institutes of Health.

Corryn Greenwood ’02, M.D., M.Ed., a neonatologist and founding medical director of the neonatal intensive care unit at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, Illinois, will be awarded an honorary degree.

Additionally, she is a clinical assistant professor at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine and an associate clinician in the Division of Neonatology Outreach for Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

Mathematics teacher at Ripon High School, Hannah Truesdale, will receive a distinguished educator award. Truesdale has been teaching math at Ripon since 2012 and serves as a mentor for new math teachers.

The Distinguished Educator Award is given out annually to an elementary, middle or high school teacher or administrator who has greatly impacted students. Nominations are made by Ripon College seniors and recent graduates.

Bill Wyman, president and chief executive officer of the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation (OACF), will accept the Founders’ Day award on behalf of the organization for contributions to the community.

OACF has been involved in building endowments for the Green Lake Association and providing scholarships to area high schools, some through the Ripon Education Foundation, and has been a strong supporter of The Boys & Girls Club of the Tri-County, which includes Ripon.

Coinciding with commencement, the grand opening of Ripon’s Franzen Science Center is May 17, following the two-and-a-half-year renovation and expansion. More information on the grand opening will be released at a later date.
