Photojournalist Scott Strazzante ’86 to showcase work at Ripon College

Scott Strazzante, a 1986 graduate of Ripon College, will have his work on display Sept. 11 to Oct. 11 in Caestecker Gallery, C.J. Rodman Center for the Arts, on the college campus.

Strazzante is a photojournalist for the San Francisco Chronicle and previously worked for the Chicago Tribune and other news sources. His book Common Ground is a photographic journal of land and community. The book features a farm family who returned to their land which had been transformed into a large subdivision.

Strazzante, who majored in art and business management, has won awards, including Illinois Photographer of the Year, National Newspaper Photographer of the Year and a collaborative Pulitzer Prize. In November, he was featured on a segment of “CBS Sunday Morning” talking about his book.

Strazzante will present an artist’s talk at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, in the lobby of the Rodman Center. An opening reception and book signing will follow.
