Intersectionality discrimination will be discussed March 8
As part of Ripon College’s celebration of Women’s History Month, the talk “Intersectionality with Unger” will be presented at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday in room B12, S.N. Pickard Commons.
This roundtable discussion will be led by Assistant Professor of English Mary Unger.
“The conversation will focus on intersectionality — a term that describes how different forms of discrimination can interact and overlap,” Unger says. “In addition to discussing how our differences in identity — according to race, gender, sexuality, class, ability, citizenship, etc. — shape our social position, we will also strategize ways that these differences can be used to mobilize movements for social justice.”
