Julie Streich ’92 appointed to board of directors for Schneider National Inc.

Julie Streich ’92 of Farmington, Connecticut, recently was appointed to the board of directors and its audit committee by Schneider National Inc. of Green Bay, Wisconsin, a provider of transportation, intermodal and logistics services.

She states that as a member of Schneider’s board of directors, she will provide governance, oversight and guidance on major decision-making to the chief executive officer and executive team, representing the interests of Schneider’s shareholders. This guidance helps “inform a strategy that will allow the company to continue its success for decades to come,” she says. “Ensuring the long-term sustainability of the business is tremendously important not only for shareholders but also for the associates who work for Schneider and the communities where Schneider operates.”

Since 2021, Streich has served as senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) for Barnes Group Inc., a global manufacturer of highly engineered solutions for aerospace and industrial applications. She previously was senior vice president of global finance operations at Centrica PLC and chief financial officer at Direct Energy Home.

As CFO at Barnes Group Inc., she is responsible for all financial and information technology aspects of the business, including accounting, SEC reporting, treasury, tax, financial planning and analytics, capital allocation, internal audit, investor relations, cyber security and data governance. “On a day-to-day basis, I partner with the CEO of the business and the senior leadership team to develop and execute business strategies designed to create shareholder value,” she says.

At Ripon, Streich majored in economics and Spanish and holds a Master of International Business from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

“The education I received at Ripon laid the foundation for the career path I ultimately pursued,” she says. “The small class size and direct engagement with professors built the confidence I needed as a young professional to engage quickly, put my ideas forward and take on new challenges.”

She first chose a business career because it was a logical path for her with the degrees she received at Ripon. “I stayed with business because it is a fascinating and diverse field that has allowed me to travel all over the world and live internationally. A business career can be as linear or multidimensional as you choose to make it.”
