EXPRESSION THROUGH FINE ARTS
At Ripon College, we support a rich tradition of excellence in the fine arts. Notable alumni include acting legend Harrison Ford ’64 and “Titanic” sound editor Tom Bellfort ’67. Our galleries house collections and showcase exhibits from both renowned artists and current students. And you don’t have to be an art history or studio art major to feel the impact. If your passion lies in art, there are opportunities to help you grow. If you’re just passing through, let the work inspire you to find your version of self-expression.
The Caestecker Gallery of Art
The Caestecker Gallery of Art at Ripon College stands at the core of liberal arts learning. Exhibitions highlight the breadth of creative thought that artists provide our culture. The gallery inspires contemplation and close looking which rewards many disciplines on campus. The College often purchases artwork that has been displayed, and the program thus builds our valuable permanent collection of art. During exhibitions, the gallery is open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 2 – 5 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 2 -6 p.m. The public is welcome, and admission is free.
Foyer Gallery
The Foyer Gallery of Art offers guests an accessible art experience upon entering the Rodman Center for the Arts. Two life-sized portraits by the 17th century Dutch master Anthony Van Dyck are among the most valuable and authoritative objects of any college in the region. These world class paintings bookend a selection of paintings, sculptures, prints, and drawings from the permanent collection that is open to the campus and community at large. The gallery is regularly open during the academic year from Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 2 p.m. -6 p.m. Admission is free.
