The agreement was signed by Ripon College President Victoria N. Folse and Fox Valley Technical College President Christopher Matheny on Feb. 6.

“This agreement opens exciting new educational pathways for our students,” Matheny said. “Students interested in starting their college journey at FVTC can now seamlessly transfer to Ripon College to pursue a bachelor’s degree. This partnership capitalizes on our close proximity, and shared mission to provide students with accessible and affordable routes to success in higher education.”

After completing either the AA or AS degree at Fox Valley Technical College, Ripon College will transfer a minimum of 60 credits to Ripon and all credits earned as part of the AA or AS degree will be accepted. Ripon College and FVTC have also created specific pathways for students who have studied biology, business management, chemistry, economics and finance to complete specific baccalaureate degrees. Both teams have signaled that they will continue to solidify pathways for additional areas of study in the coming months.

“At Ripon College, we’re committed to making small, liberal arts education accessible to all in the region,” Vice President, Dean of Faculty and Professor of Philosophy John Sisko said. “We aim to support students in reaching their goals and finding success both personally and professionally.”

With this agreement, Wisconsin students transferring to Ripon College may also be eligible for the Ripon Commitment, which entirely covers or greatly reduces tuition and fees.

“Our commitment at Ripon College to make a four-year education affordable starts with removing barriers,” Ripon College President Victoria N. Folse said. “Our transfer agreement ensures that students who earn an AA or AS degree at Fox Valley Technical College can seamlessly continue their journey toward a BA or BS at Ripon College, fully recognizing the hard work and achievements they have already accomplished.”

Sisko has also indicated that this agreement serves as a model as Ripon looks to broaden its partnerships with other colleges throughout the state of Wisconsin.
