From 1996-2009, Alberts worked for the Dallas Stars and Texas Rangers in various sales management roles in tickets, suites, and corporate sponsorships. From 2006-09, Alberts served as executive vice president of Hicks Sports Marketing Group, the in-house sponsorship sales group for the Stars, Rangers and Liverpool Football Club. In 2009, Alberts took over as vice president of sponsorship and sales at Legends/CSL, overseeing events at numerous venues around the country, most notably the Circuit of The Americas, a Formula One racing track in Austin, Texas.

Since rejoining the Stars in 2011, Alberts helped lead tremendous growth in brand visibility, attendance and sponsorship sales for the team.

Alberts led the Stars’ effort to land the 2020 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic outdoor game at the Cotton Bowl. The event sold out within hours of tickets going on sale and was hailed as one of the most successful NHL events of all time with 85,630 fans — the second-largest crowd in league history.

The Stars reached new heights under Alberts during the 2022-23 season and run to the Western Conference Finals. The organization sold out all season tickets for 2023-24 in the lower bowl and Platinum level at American Airlines Center for the first time since 2002-03, an increase of more than 2,000 seats. The Stars sold more than 14,500 total season tickets, including $12.0 million in new ticket revenue – up 37 percent. More than 24,000 Stars jerseys were sold in 2022-23 — a 41 percent increase and the most ever in franchise history.

The team’s efforts were recognized by D CEO Magazine, winning the publication’s prestigious Corporate Citizenship Award for Equity Leadership in 2022.

Additionally, Alberts acts as president and alternate governor of the Texas Stars, Dallas’ top development affiliate in the American Hockey League. He serves on the American Airlines Center Board of Directors, assisting in the management of one of the busiest arenas in the country.

He also serves as a member of the American Cancer Society CEO Board and the Dallas Sports Commission Board, and is actively involved in other nonprofit causes in the Metroplex.
