Student political representatives will debate election issues at Ripon College
Student Panel: 2016 Elections, with student representatives of the Republican, Democratic and Libertarian parties, will be held Nov. 3 at Ripon College. The event will run from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. in Kresge Little Theatre, East Hall on the campus.
The Center for Politics and the People will be hosting the student debate. Rose Hogmire ’18 of Lake Elmo, Minnesota, will be the moderator. The College Republicans will be represented by Nate Jung ’20 of Random Lake, Wisconsin, and Austin Borchardt ’18 of Rubicon, Wisconsin. The College Democrats will be represented by Zach Matson ’17 of Minnetonka, Minnesota, and Cecelia Ward ’18 of Coldwater, Michigan. The Libertarians will be represented by Josh Schubring ’18 of Franklin, Wisconsin. They each will represent the opinions of their party’s candidate in the upcoming election on three current social/political issues:
- Climate change and the future of energy
- Combating domestic terrorism
- Making college affordable
