Students, faculty member participate in online conference

Twelve students and Associate Professor of Chemistry Joseph Scanlon participated in the Midwestern Undergraduate Computational Chemistry Consortium (MU3C) Winter Online conference.

On Feb. 8, four students presented their research as online posters:

  • Computational Characterization of the Form of Ag(phen) Catalyst for Amination and Aziridination Reactions, presented by Paige Birschbach ’17 of Eden, Wisconsin. She is majoring in chemistry.
  • Investigation of Rhodium Catalysts and Reactants for Hydroacylation Reactions, presented by Geno Schneider ’17 of Oakdale, Minnesota. He is a chemistry major with a minor in biology.
  • Electronic Decomposition Analysis of Substituted Metal Alkene and Alkyne Complexes, presented by Erika Isaacson ’18 of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She is a chemistry-biology major with a minor in Spanish.
  • Divergent Activation of N-Arylthioureas by Molecular Halogen, presented by Soe Tun ’17 of Myanmar. He is a chemistry major.
