Ripon College’s 2025 Commencement speakers, award winners announced

“Redistricting and the Future of Congress” will be the subject of talk presented by Dr. Michael Crespin today at Ripon College. The program will begin at 4:30 p.m. in Todd Wehr 104. His talk is presented by the Center for Politics and the People.
Crespin is the associate director of the Carl Albert Congressional Research and Studies Center at the University of Oklahoma, where he also is an associate professor of political science.
His research focuses on legislative politics, congressional elections, and political geography. His work has appeared in the American Journal of Political Science, the Journal of Politics, Legislative Studies Quarterly, Political Analysis, and State Politics and Policy Quarterly.
Research with co-authors has won the Harold Gosnell Prize for the best work in political methodology and the Patrick J. Fett Award for the best paper on the scientific study of Congress and the Presidency.
At Ripon, Crespin will discuss ways redistricting methods influence congressional elections as well as what to expect from the first session of the 115th Congress.
