Ripon College President featured in Rivista
Ripon College President Zach Messitte was featured in Rivista, a magazine produced by John Hopkins University’s Bologna Center. In the Rivista interview, Messitte reflected on his teaching philosophy and how it guides his thoughts and decisions as an administrator.
“…though research is important,” said Messitte, “teaching should be held with the same high regard. I give lectures but I try to push my students by asking uncomfortable questions and thinking about counterfactuals.”
The conversation is wide-ranging and touches on everything from Messitte’s experience as an NPR radio host and his fascination with Spiro Agnew, to his forthcoming book, Understanding the Global Community.
