Ford is an assistant professor in the department of communication studies at Columbia College in Columbia, S.C. Her teaching interests include: hip-hop culture, color and identity, gender and African diaspora studies. Before joining the Columbia College faculty in August 2013, Dr. Ford spent two years as an ACM Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow of African American Rhetorical Studies at Ripon College.

This interactive workshop lead by David Polizzi & James Bland will make you think about words you say and their possible hidden meanings.

Choose between activities with residents at Prairie Place Assisted Living or remodeling projects at the Green Lake Town Square. Volunteers for both receive a celebratory “thank-you” lunch.
