Three Ripon History Majors Publish Book About Ripon
Three Ripon College history majors, Amanda Gesiorski ’14, Naomi Jahn ’14 and Christian Krueger ’15, have published a book about the history of Ripon, which is available on Amazon.com: HERE
“Ripon (Images of America Series)” covers everything from Ripon’s founding in the 1840s; to the birthplace of the Republican Party in 1854; the birthplace of suffragette Carrie Chapman Catt (1859) and department store pioneer H. Gordon Selfridge (1858); the founding of Ripon College (1851), often called the Harvard of the Midwest; and famous Ripon College alumni such as actors Spencer Tracy ’24 and Harrison Ford ’64; jazz singer Al Jarreau ’62; American physicist and health researcher Elda Emma Anderson ’22; and astronaut Jeffrey Bantle ’80.
The book’s three authors will be featured speakers at Ripon College’s Founders’ Day program Jan. 28.
