Colucci: Bush’s Nightmare is Coming True

Lamont Colucci, associate professor and chair of politics and government and interim director of the Center for Politics and the People at Ripon College, posted his most recent opinion column on the U.S. News & World Report website about rogue, non-state actors using chemical weapons, just as former President George W. Bush predicted.

Colucci says weapons of mass destruction in the hands of terrorists or their allies, like al-Qaida, was a fundamental cornerstone of Bush’s national security strategy, and his administration was entirely correct in its analysis of this danger and the need to combat it. “The next amplification is the use of WMD by a transnational terrorist group, beholden to no one, obeying no morality, and defying the laws of both God and man,” Colucci says.
