Award-winning violinist to perform Nov. 10 at Ripon College

Violinist Francesca Anderegg will perform at Ripon College Nov. 10 as part of the Chamber Music and Jazz at Ripon Series. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Demmer Recital Hall, C.J. Rodman Center for the Arts. Her program, “Music from Latin America and Beyond,” will include works by Astor Piazzolla, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Alberto Ginastera, and Aaron Copland.

Ticket information is available by calling 920-748-8791.

Anderegg performs contemporary and classical music with a “rich tone” and “virtuosic panache,” according to critics. She holds a doctor of musical arts degree from the Juilliard School as well as a master’s degree in violin performance.

She has a personal interest in a diverse array of musical traditions from multiple cultures and has created concert programs that tap into deep cultural and narrative roots. She has collaborated with some of today’s most prominent composers.

She has worked with New York Philharmonic composer-in-residence Magnus Lindberg, performing his Clarinet Quintet throughout New York; recently toured Brazil and performed as soloist with orchestras, taught master classes, performed in chamber music venues, and taught at a social music project at the invitation of the U.S. Consulate. She also has had recitals at the Arts Club of Washington, D.C., and performed with Itzhak Perlman.

She is a professor of violin at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, and has taught at Interlochen Center for the Arts. In 2016, she was awarded a McKnight Fellowship for Performing Musicians, awarded to Minnesota musicians with a “distinctive musical voice.”
