Seven students selected to perform at regional theatre festival auditions

Seven Ripon College students have been nominated to perform audition pieces for the American College Theatre Festival, Region 3, to be held Jan. 8 to 13 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Madison College and Edgewood College.

Students are nominated on the basis of a performance in a play. Two winners from each of the eight regions will travel to the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., in April to compete nationally.

Ripon College’s acting nominees for this year’s festival are:

  • Bailey Jerrick ’20 of Stoughton, Wisconsin, and Thomas Phillipsen ’19 of Waupaca, Wisconsin, for their performance in “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” in the spring of 2018.
  • Savannah White ’19 of Carol Stream, Illinois, and Courtney Hall ’20 of West Allis, Wisconsin, for their performance in “Silent Sky” in the fall of 2018.
  • DeShawn Thomas ’20 of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for his performance in “Paragon Springs” in the fall of 2018.
  • In addition, Crystal Fercy ’19 of Appleton, Wisconsin, and James Balistreri ’19 of Plymouth, Wisconsin, will present designs in the lighting and scenic design competition.
