David Seligman publishes hunting essay in new book
Professor of Philosophy Emeritus and former Vice President and Dean of Faculty David Seligman has published an essay, “The Catch and Release Conundrum,” in Hunting and the Ivory Tower: Essays by Scholars Who Hunt.
The book was published this year by the University of South Carolina Press. It includes essays by 17 hunter-scholars who explore the hunting experience and question negative assumptions about hunting made by intellectuals and academics who do not hunt.
The book has been praised as probing “deeply into the ways in which hunting restores and deepens our connection to the woods and the wild creatures who live there.”
