Dick Bennett ’65 featured as his son’s team readies for championship game April 8

Dick Bennett ’65 of Nekoosa, Wisconsin, was featured in the article “Dick Bennett, Tony Bennett’s Dad: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know” April 6, 2019, on heavy.com.

The article details Dick Bennett’s time as a student-athlete at Ripon College, as well as his legacy as a coach of building the Wisconsin-Green Bay Phoenix men’s basketball program into a powerful program and revitalizing the Wisconsin Badgers basketball program, guiding Wisconsin to the Final Four in 2000.

Bennett’s son, Tony Bennett is head coach of the University of Virginia’s Cavaliers men’s basketball team. Tony and his team are in the NCAA Div 1 national championship game April 8 against Texas Tech in Minneapolis.
