Art exhibit featuring work by Lester O. Schwartz opens Aug. 1 in Fond du Lac

“Lester O. Schwartz: A Retrospective,” an exhibit of work by the longtime Ripon College art faculty member, will run Aug. 1 through Sept. 21 at Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts in Fold du Lac. The exhibit is organized by the artist’s daughter, Tanya Schwartz-Roeper ’88 of Ripon.

An opening reception will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1. Schwartz-Roeper will give a tour of the exhibit at 6 p.m. Admission is free.

Schwartz (1912-2006) was at Ripon College from 1944 to 1992. The exhibit features about 80 of his works and spans his 80-year career as a painter and sculptor. It includes six works on loan from Ripon College.
