Internship will have ‘lasting impact’ on future career of Nate Jung ’20

An internship during the summer of 2019 “will make a lasting impact on my future endeavors in law and education,” says Nate Jung ’20 of Kewaskum, Wisconsin.

Jung is a double major in politics & government and economics, with a minor in national security studies. He interned for Justice Brian Hagedorn in the Wisconsin Court of Appeals in Madison, Wisconsin. He was supported by a $2,000 Internship Supplemental Grant from the Center for Politics and the People.

At Ripon College, Jung is president of the International Relations Club, president of the Fishing Club, vice president of College Republicans, vice president of Young Americans for Freedom and a student senator.

Along with more general research responsibilities, Jung says, “I aided with the transition from District 2 of the Wisconsin Court of Appeals to (Hagedorn’s) new position on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.”

He says his specific work at District 2 related to the history of the 4th Amendment which aided in opinions made on the court and will continue to help Hagedorn put issues in a historical context.

After graduating from Ripon, Jung would like to attend law school and then either open his own law firm or become an international lawyer for the U.S. government.
