Ripon Athletic now making masks, gowns to assist in COVID-19 effort

Ripon Athletic, a local apparel company which supplies Ripon College’s varsity team uniforms and other campus apparel, has shifted production from athletic wear to protective equipment to help mitigate shortages during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Using materials already on hand, Ripon Athletic is producing 400 to 500 non-contact masks a day for area essential businesses such as Bellin Health, Condon Oil and Webster’s Marketplace to hand out to employees and customers.

They also are producing personal protective equipment (PPE) gowns of 200 to 250 per day to fulfill an order of 5,000 gowns for the majority of the sheriff’s departments in the state.

They are working with suppliers to get more materials in as production continues.

“There are things needed in the community, and we determined what we could produce with the supplies we had on hand to see how we could help,” says Luke Ott, national sales manager.
