Kourtney Camm ’22 appointed to Wisconsin Leadership Institute board

Kourtney Camm ’22 of Evansville, Wisconsin, has been appointed to the board of directors of the Wisconsin Leadership Institute, headquartered at Ripon College. She is currently a summer intern for the institute, helping with market research, social media strategies and other tasks. She is earning both a scholarship and course credit for her summer work, which she does remotely from her home.

Camm has a self-designed major in marketing with minors in business management and Spanish. She has a special interest in social media marketing and promotion. She also is interning with the College’s Office of Marketing and Communications, where she is managing social media accounts. “Her interests and experience in social media and marketing are a perfect fit for (the institute’s) current goals,” says executive director David Sakrison. “She brings much-needed expertise to the staff and the board.”

Also newly appointed to the institute’s board is Jennifer DeBoer, an assistant professor in the School of Business at Western Colorado University, who was an assistant professor in the Department of Economics and Business Management at Ripon College during the 2019-20 school year.

The institute was established in 1995 at the request of then-Wisconsin Gov. Tommy Thompson. At the time, Ripon College was home to the nation’s first undergraduate Leadership Studies program. The institute promotes servant leadership in schools, organizations and communities and supports local initiatives in leadership development through audio, video and written resources.
