Reunite Ripon: Our Plan To Return To In-Person Learning

We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the College when on-campus classes resume Monday, August 17.

Over the course of the summer, a dedicated team of faculty, staff and administrators has been planning for our return while ensuring that we can safely preserve our learning community and personalized education. They have studied the best practices from other colleges and universities, collaborated with our local health providers and procured sanitizing and personal protective equipment to allow us to open in-person as planned.

While our in-person education will resume, campus life as we know it will look different. There will be changes in the ways we learn, work, and socialize. And now, more than ever, it is the duty and responsibility of students, faculty and staff to safeguard the health and safety of the entire Ripon community.

In the seven days before you plan to return to campus, it is our strongest possible recommendation that you take every extra precaution, including self-quarantine, before coming to Ripon. There will also be an expectation that members of the campus community self-monitor symptoms through the use of the Campus Clear app one week prior to arriving on campus and throughout the course of the fall semester.

Reunite Ripon is our road map for the 2020-21 academic year. The policies, procedures, and guidelines in Reunite Ripon are effective immediately and are the critical and necessary steps to ensuring a safe return to in-person learning.

Your commitment to Reunite Ripon is essential, which is why we are asking all students, faculty, and staff to sign a campus community health pledge by Monday, August 10.

While these documents provide an overview of our plans to date, we know that you will have further questions. The administrative team of the College will host three town halls next week and we hope that you will be able to join us.

  • Student Town Hall – Monday, Aug. 3 at 7 p.m.
  • Faculty/Staff Town Hall – Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 11 a.m.
  • Parent/Family Town Hall – Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 7 p.m.

Over the course of the next few days, students, faculty, and staff will continue to receive informational updates regarding the return to campus. I ask all of you to be diligent in checking your campus email.

I look forward to seeing you all next week and welcoming you back to campus in August.

Sincerely,

Zach Messitte
