Creative Enterprise Consultants honored by Fond du Lac County

The Ripon College Creative Enterprise Consultants, part of the Center for Social Responsibility, recently received recognition and a ‘Scrappy Award” from Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corp. for their involvement in the IGNITE! Business Success partnership.

Ripon College students are providing business consulting services and other resources to Fond du Lac County entrepreneurs as part of the new 14-business network. The partnership is the first of its kind in Fond du Lac County and provides a formal platform for Ripon’s Creative Enterprise Consultants to impact growth and development of small businesses in the area.

Ripon students have been heading up Creative Enterprise Consultants and providing consulting services for local businesses and entrepreneurs for six years. While students run the show, the CEC falls under the supervision of Ripon College faculty of various disciplines to assist the students in helping the many kinds of businesses with which the students interact.

Students from every academic background are encouraged to apply for positions at the center as there are no limits to the kinds of help businesses might need.

Other businesses that are joining Ripon College as part of IGNITE! include the Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corporation, which was the organizer of IGNITE!, ADVOCAP, the Fond du Lac Area Association of Commerce, Marian University and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Business Success Center.

IGNITE! Business Success officially opened for business this September, and this network is the first time in the Fond du Lac area where local businesses have come together to be as effective as possible in helping area entrepreneurs build up their businesses.

Resources that Ripon College students are providing as part of their work with IGNITE! Business Success include market research, business planning and budgeting. All an entrepreneur needs to do to receive assistance is to fill out an assessment form so that their needs can be determined and the appropriate business resource within the network.
