Colucci speaks space future, Space Force at national gatherings

Lamont Colucci, professor of politics and government and coordinator of National Security Studies, will speak on a panel, “Emergence of the U.S. Space Force: How to Balance U.S. Security Interests and the Peaceful Use of Outer Space,” Nov. 17 for the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).

He previously participated in a Congressional Staff Briefing Oct. 22. “Understanding the New Space Race: China’s Space Ambitions and U.S. Responses,” was presented by the American Foreign Policy Council, of which Colucci is a senior fellow for national security.

Colucci also is a contributing author to “Future of Space 2060” for the U.S. Space Command, 2019-2020; and a contributing author to “Applied Field Magnetoplasmadynamic Thrusters: Securing and Unlocking Future Military Space Operations” for the Joint Air & Space Power Conference-NATO.

He presented “The Triplanetary Economy” at the virtual ASCEND Conference in September.
