About
Institutional Effectiveness at Ripon College plays a vital role in ensuring the institution’s strategic goals are met through data-driven insights and evaluations. Focused on enhancing overall institutional performance, the OIE gathers, organizes, analyzes and interprets data to inform decision-making processes across academic and administrative functions. The office enables Ripon College to identify strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring that the institution can adapt to evolving educational landscapes and run effectively as a team.
The OIE also prepares and manages the stewardship of data across campus. The OIE supports the management, distribution and protection of student information covered by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which is the heart of data in higher education institutions.

Student Success Initiatives
The OIE undertakes specialized research projects, prepares and edits reports and supports faculty in gathering institutional data for grant proposals, ensuring that resources are effectively aligned with the College’s mission. The OIE is involved in initiatives to support first-generation college students and students with Pell-Eligibility in partnership with the American Talent Initiative (ATI), and maintains connections with Ripon College’s membership group, the Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM).

Improving Assessment and Accountability
The Office of Institutional Effectiveness plans to support faculty and staff by assisting in the creation of assessment plans aimed at evaluating departmental objectives and student learning outcomes. This commitment to continuous improvement not only enhances the academic quality at Ripon College but also fosters an environment of accountability and excellence across the campus community.

Internal Partnerships
Cooperative internal partnerships include Senior Director of Information Technology Gary Rodman, Registrar Katy Crane and Director of Assessment Julia Manor.

Accreditation Assistance
The Office of Institutional Effectiveness is responsible for connecting departments and providing information in support of questions of interest. The OIE responds to surveys and addresses requests for data and information by Ripon College constituents, external partnerships and provides information for institutional accreditation.
