Doreen Conforti Chemerow ‘73

Receiving Doctor of Humane Letters (D.H.L.)

Doreen Conforti Chemerow ‘73 is a first-generation college graduate whose ability to attend Ripon College was made possible through scholarships and campus employment, an opportunity she has continually honored through a lifetime of service and generosity. A National Merit Scholar from Kenosha, Wisconsin, she earned a history degree and teaching certification at Ripon, later completing an MBA in finance from Columbia University. Deeply grateful for the education and support she received, Chemerow dedicated herself to giving back, building a successful career at TWA Airlines, volunteering extensively in her community, and, alongside her husband, providing transformative support to Ripon through scholarships, academic and athletic programs, the arts, and campus facilities, including a chair in theatre and the renovation of Benstead Theatre. Her more than two decades of devoted leadership as a trustee and her enduring commitment to students and faculty have left a lasting legacy, for which the Ripon campus community remains profoundly thankful. In 2014, Doreen was awarded the Medal of Merit from Ripon College.
