I am a developmental biologist interested in how cartilage cells get their shape. My lab studies this using zebrafish as a model system for human facial birth defects. I teach Introductory Biology, Scientific Writing and Communication, Cell Biology, Developmental Biology, and Cancer Biology.
What tech tool could you not live without?
My computer.
What’s your favorite topic or course to teach and why?
Introductory Biology and Cell Biology. Thinking about all of the little proteins walking along tracks in the cell dragging their cargo behind them just makes me smile.
What is something your students would be surprised to learn about you?
I went to five different elementary schools.
